Zambia is entirely landlocked, meaning all sea freight must transit through regional ports — typically Durban (South Africa) or Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) — before continuing overland by truck. This adds both transit time and handling complexity compared to coastal markets.

In 2024–2025, certified padel court installers with structural and turf experience were virtually non-existent in Zambia. Any solution needed to either include skilled installation support or be engineered for straightforward local assembly.

UNIPADEL's scope was the complete court systems: steel frame structure, tempered glass panels, wire mesh panels, surface turf, net posts, and all court hardware. Delivery Process: From Order to Opening

Phase 1 — Technical Consultation and Drawing Approval

Before production began, confirm court layout coordinates, anchor bolt patterns, clearance distances between the two courts, and electrical conduit routing for LED lighting. Detailed shop drawings and a Bill of Materials were approved before any steel was cut.

Phase 2 — Factory Production

Both courts were manufactured at UNIPADEL's facility to exact specification: steel profiles CNC-cut and bent to tolerance, hot-dip galvanized then powder-coated matte black; glass panels pre-cut, tempered, and edge-polished; turf rolls cut to court width for minimal seam count. All components were labeled by court number and assembly sequence.

Phase 3 — Packing and Ocean Freight

Two full court sets were packed into standard shipping containers, with sea freight coordinated to Durban port and inland haulage arranged to Lusaka. Glass panels were individually crated; steel profiles bundled and corner-protected against the long multi-modal journey. Full packing list and English-language installation manual were provided to the client.

Elevate's local construction team assembled the courts using UNIPADEL's step-by-step technical manual:
